Management reporting
Financial information designed for internal decision-making, such as monthly statements, forecasts, budgets and
operating analysis. No assurance report is provided.
Review engagement
A review consists primarily of inquiry, analysis and discussion and provides limited assurance on the financial
statements.
Choosing the right engagement
The starting point is the actual user requirement – a lender agreement, funding condition, bylaws, shareholder
need or management purpose – not a preferred label.
We review the requirement and explain the level of work and assurance that matches it.
Compilation engagement
Financial information is compiled using information provided by management and presented under an agreed
basis of accounting. A compilation engagement does not provide assurance.
Audit engagement
An audit involves risk assessment, testing and other procedures and provides reasonable assurance that the
financial statements are free from material misstatement.
